The
most charming inn located in lovely little Occidental! The innkeepers
and staff made us feel most welcome in their charming and beautifully
decorated inn. They have the best ammenities and have certainly
paid attention to every detail. Each room is unique! The linens
& towels are of the highest quality..this is so important
to me! It feels so good to be there..a "home away from home"
for sure! The breakfast is delicious and plentiful. You cannot
miss this when traveling to the Russian River area in Sonoma county.
We had the warmest welcome
from their staff and their little adorable dog! We will return.
This is a gem. - Mendocino
I had heard about the Inn at Occidental over the years, so it
was on my list of places I wanted to stay. I was lucky enough
to be the winning bidder at a charity auction last year and finally
had the chance to visit last night. As the owner of an inn in
Mendocino, I am probably more critical than most people when I
stay somewhere. I found the Inn at Occidental more than exceeded
my expectations. My room was comfortable and well-appointed. As
a previous reviewer noted, the bed was great. Fresh cookies, a
selection of teas and coffee and an inviting lobby/great room
area made for a very restful atmosphere. When I arrived, I was
personally greeted by the innkeepers. They were kind and friendly.
While there are no televisions in the rooms, the owners asked
if I would like to have one put in for the time I was there. I
thought that was a great touch. They also pointed me in the right
direction for the Christmas shopping I needed to do. After a long
day of shopping, I was able to relax in a spacious spa tub. Although
I missed the wine hour, today's breakfast was delicious and well-prepared.
A nice fire was lit in the dining room and there was a selection
of several papers to read. Overall, a great experience on every
level. - Mendocino
This was my first stay in a Bed and Breakfast Inn - which I had
always avoided in the past because of my mistaken view of B&Bs
as a room with a shared bathroom in a house with people I didn't
know. The Inn at Occidental was definitely beyond my expectations.
Driving out - about 30 minutes from Highway 101 in Rohnert Park,
and another 30 minutes from San Francisco - and finding the town
of Occidental was a treat in itself. It's beautiful, peaceful,
wine country out there. Leave your urban stresses behind! The
Inn is actually 3 buildings with about 16 separate suites, most
with its own jacuzzi. My friend and I got a special tour of the
suites and each is special and unique in decor. All are "homey"
and cozy, a vast difference from any other hotel room I've stayed
in, even if high-end and elegant. The Inn's owners and hosts,
Tina and Jerry Wolsborn, are surely the hosts with the most-ests.
Their personal attention to every detail of the inn, the suites,
the personal comfort of their guests reflect the "aloha"
spirit of their hospitality backgrounds. The evening wine and
cheese hour and the breakfast spread were outstanding. I'm still
trying to wrench that scone recipe from Tina. A perfect getaway
which I would do again! - San Francisco
