For anyone who loves great food and wine (and isn’t that all of us?), one of the best events of the year is just ahead. Taste of Sonoma, often considered a top food event in the nation, will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2016. The stellar fest is the highlight of Wine Country Weekend, a three-day celebration of our area’s food and wine.
This year’s Taste of Sonoma will be held at Mac Murray Estate Vineyards in Healdsburg, a stunning property set amid rolling hills and magnificent redwoods in the heart of the Russian River Valley—and a great place to spend a leisurely afternoon.
More than 60 top local chefs will be at the event, creating delicious dishes to pair with wine. And then there’s the wine! 200-plus wineries will be participating, pouring thousands of wines of all vintages. In addition to all the delightful tastings, visitors can enjoy wine seminars, cooking demonstrations, a Sonoma county marketplace and more fun activities.
Several fun wine events are also included in the day. Join the Blind Tasting Challenge and you can test your wine know-how tasting a flight of wines. During the Pair With The Pros: Wine & Food Pairing, guests can learn how professionals select flavors to pair with flavors. And for those who want to learn even more, Talks in the Wine Barn offers lively panel discussions with renowned Sonoma County winemakers. You can make reservations for all these special events on the Taste of Sonoma website.
